Research conducted at Delft Mental Health Computing Lab focuses on computer support systems for understanding, preventing, and relieving psychologically based distress or dysfunction and for mental coaching to promote health, well-being and the prevention of illness. It is positioned at the intersection between computer science (including human computer interaction), clinical and health psychology.

Develop an Evaluation Tool for an Ontology on Traumatic Memories

In this project, you’ll be working on all of these aspects. Our goal is to enable a virtual agent to ask trauma patients smart questions about their memories. To do this we use a knowledge base of concepts, an ontology. This ontology should contain information about traumatic experiences, something which clinical psychologists and trauma patients have, but computer scientists generally do not. Your challenge is to develop a tool which can be used by psychologists to evaluate and update ontologies. You’ll be working with psychologists to make sure your tool is user-friendly and do a small experiment to test if your system is able to evaluate and update the ontology. more information
